Dear Potential Member:
My name is Matt Tolliver, President and Co-Founder of Phi Sigma Phi: Chi Chapter. I would like to take this time to further enlighten you about the purpose and goals of our organization and our national affiliate.
Phi Sigma Phi was established July 30, 1988 as a national fraternity; its beliefs rested in the fact that membership should be open to all students regardless of race, age, creed, political and/or financial disposition. To further aid this cause, Phi Sigma Phi adjusted their fees to become the fraternity with the lowest national dues. Since then, Phi Sigma Phi has grown to become a well recognized and renowned organization across America with nine chapters and several colonies in West Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Michigan.
The Chi Chapter of Phi Sigma Phi was originated January 4th, 2009 by four friends that decided to make the most of the "college experience" through sporting events, charitable acts, and giving back to the college and community. To do this, we decided to start a new chapter at ETSU through which all our goals could be reached. Phi Sigma Phi was chosen to be our national partner with whom we are associated due to their upstanding moral traditions and their unparalleled ethical background.
Today, Chi Chapter is rapidly growing in size and popularity. We have chosen to excel ourselves beyond other organizations with broadening our horizens and expanding our aspirations by opening our door to all students. This is done by keeping our physical and monetary demands to a bare minimum. We wanted to allow all students that wished to improve the future to have the ability to become a part of our great organization. Chi Chapter takes great interest in ETSU by participating in every athletic event possible as well as working in conjunction with other clubs on campus. We also are extremely active with charitable organizations in the community such as Goodwill, Relay for Life, the Animal Shelter, Second Harvest Food Bank, and many more. It is our goal to leave behind a better world for the enjoyment of everyone. We encourage each and every student that has the desire to improve their school, their society, and their self to step forward from the crowd. So make that move, invest in your future, and become the next member in Phi Sigma Phi: Chi Chapter.
